Everyone will experience difficulties of one kind or another at some stage in their life – this is an unavoidable reality and indeed is part of life itself. It is often the level of support that we get in order to manage these difficulties that determines how well we can cope with them. For some difficulties, try as we might, it is not possible to work through them by ourselves and existing support systems are not available or unequipped to help. Deciding to seek help outside of our friends and family is a courageous first step.

A crisis can be seen as opportunity for growth – even though it may not seem like it at the time. That growth requires a special kind of environment in order to take root – that environment is the counselling / therapeutic relationship.

My name is Pete Tobias and I am a qualified and experienced therapist offering regular counselling sessions on a short, medium, or longer term basis.

I offer a safe, non-judgmental environment where difficult feelings can be explored and change made possible. I make use of various theories and models of psychology to work in a way that fits for each client. This method of working is referred to as integrative.
