Amber Djemal

I am an experienced Psychotherapist/Counsellor offering both short and longer term Psychotherapy/Counselling since 2001 working with a wide range of people including those who do not traditionally access talking therapies.

I believe we all have times in our lives when we struggle to feel happy and satisfied for a whole range of reasons and that with the right support we can find a way to overcome these. I will work with you to help you understand and find your own answers to the problems facing you. I aim to be respectful, warm, welcoming and understanding as a therapist whilst providing supportive challenge when necessary. In order for the therapy to be effective, the relationship between us has to feel right, although there will be hurdles to negotiate at times because that is the nature of any relationship, including professional ones

I work with a whole range of presenting issues, including:

  • anxiety
  • depression
  • self-esteem
  • relationships
  • abuse and trauma, including domestic or sexual abuse
  • sexual identity
  • cultural heritage/identity
  • bereavement
  • and anything else that impacts your emotional health

I have a Post-Graduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling (2002) from London Metropolitan University, a Graduate Certificate in Group Analysis (2013) from the Institute for Group Analysis/Birkbeck and have been an Accredited and Registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) since 2005.
